Situated between Porthcurno and Porthgwarra and around three miles from Lands End on Cornwall’s far south west coast is the south facing Porthchapel Beach. It is a sheltered cove that is surrounded by weathered granite cliffs.
Generally quiet this sandy beach is a favourite with local families although never becomes crowded. Due to its location, access is only suitable for the able bodied; the narrow cliff path winds through a beautiful wooded valley followed by a climb down rocks to the beach.
Seals are regular visitors to the beach and are often seen swimming just off shore.
